Kisumu, Kenya – October ’16

“… to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.” – Acts 26:18

Gospel Campaign in slum area of Kisumu

We held a three-day Gospel Campaign in Kisumu, Kenya in the midst of a slum area and again saw the lost coming to Christ. Every night the Gospel was being preached and people, among whom quite some children, came forward giving their lives to Jesus. Miracles took place and many people got healed.

Joyful dancing in the dust

Joyful dancing in the dust

One night after the preaching and healing of the sick, I felt impressed to do a second invitation for salvation. It was then that a number of ‘cool and tough guys’ who had been standing at the back of the crowd came forward… God knows how to reach the hearts!

The Lord gave me a word of knowledge for a young woman of around 20 years old who had recently committed abortion. A 19-year-old girl came forward, totally broken, confessing that she was the one. 4 days earlier she had committed abortion. We prayed for her. God’s grace is so wonderful, instantly He forgives and wipes away the heaviest of sins.

Apart from the Gospel nights, a pastors seminar had been organized in which about 300 pastors gathered. Most of them had never received solid bible teaching.

Our host, Bishop John Atieno (River of Life Ministries) is doing a great work. When he was only 4 years old he became an orphan and had to work for food and a place to sleep. At the age of 17, after attempting to commit suicide, he miraculously came to the Lord. He now runs an orphanage, Neema Children’s Home, in which he takes care of 62 children. He furthermore oversees 28 churches and plants new ones. In fact, immediately after the campaign he started a church with the new converts. Praise Jesus!
